INTEGRITY DID A SECRET SHOW IN CLEVELAND

Integrity means many things to many people. Members of the band have attracted equal amounts of love and hate over the years. They have been a controversial unit who have set the bar pretty damn high. Both aesthetically and musically, Integrity has swayed a whole generation of hardcore fans and musicians away from the posi oriented jargon of bands like Youth of Today, and off into an abysmal, dark, and metallic place of despair. I can definitely get down with that. Last night (9/282015) Integrity made a surprise appearance at the Foundry in Cleveland, Ohio. Only about forty lucky fans and friends were there to witness the madness, from what I am told. Here is a video from the show of them doing the classic “Micha”, courtesy of Bill Zakovec.

Set list:
Vocal Test
Hollow
Systems Overload
Judgement Day
Micha
Hybrid Moments (Misfits cover)

RARE INTEGRITY COVERS OF SEPTIC DEATH SONGS

I always found it really interesting how Integrity were influenced by bands like Septic Death and GISM (notice the GISM/Sakevi vocal influence on the above song) . Integrity were the kings of mystery in the 90s and even though they were signed to Victory Records, they certainly did not have a generic “Victory” sound to fall back on. Everything about Integrity was original and intense. That was part of the intrigue and mystique. In retrospect, I find a lot of 90s hardcore to be laughable at best. This is not the case with Integrity. Check out these rare karaoke style Septic Death covers and celebrate the history of Cleveland hardcore.

CHECK OUT THIS INMATES SET FROM NOW THATS CLASS (8/22)

You can’t change people’s minds about certain things; religion, politics, and what “is and isn’t punk” are subjects that come to mind. I’ll tell you what though, save your political correctness, spikey jacket with perfectly placed patches, and self righeous attitudes…Inmates are one of the punkest bands I have ever heard. There are no gimmicks needed in Ohio. Just bring your sense of humor and self-destructive attitude or fuck off. If you’ve never been to Now That’s Class, just take a listen to what you are missing. THE BEST OF INTEGRITY

Love ’em or hate ’em, Dwid and company are Cleveland hardcore legends. The demo tracks and some of their earliest work sounds like Cro Mags in a brawl with GISM. The later stuff is more polished but equally punishing and they have never really quit with the assault. Here is some of my favorite Integrity music.
