“Agitated” by Electric Eels is hands down one of the most important punk rock songs of all time. I put it in my top ten, maybe even top five. Nobody else was making those brash, snotty, abrasive sounds. Another Rust Belt city, Detroit, had The Stooges and MC5 but the Eels were something different. They were distinctly Cleveland. CLEVELAND CONFIDENTIAL (A RETROSPECTIVE INTERVIEW WITH MIKE HUDSON)

“Cleveland Confidential” was made in 1982, a year before I was born. This recording has always been shrouded in mystery for me, letting my imagination run wild.
