Birthday Noose release their debut album ‘Noosifer’ April 1st. The 8 track epitome to classical garage punk and neo-psychedelia combines fuzzy feedback driven guitars, primal beats and ego rattling sub-bass frequencies to stretch the boundaries of sound and space. Birthday Noose is a three piece garage/psychedelic band from Akron Ohio comprised of Kevin Braun (Fillmore Jive and The Modulated Tones), Eric Blankenhorn (Bad Trouble and SuperPreditor) and Chrissy Spangler on drums. The band’s sound is self-described as ‘fuzzed out, reverb soaked drone punk’ and for fans of loud distorted garage rock ala The Cramps, The Stooges, The Gories and Thee Oh Sees. ‘ Noosifer is the follow up to the band’s 2015 EP ‘Hang Em’ High!’ and expands on the band’s garage/psych roots. The self-recorded album was produced by local sound engineer and genius Corey Farrow over the winter. Birthday Noose will perform ‘Noofiser’ in its entirety live in Youngstown this month on Friday April 15th at The Royal Oaks along with Youngstown rockers CVTTVNMVVTH. ‘Noosifer’ in its entirety is available for free streaming and download online at birthdaynoose.bandcamp.com and hardcopies are available for purchase online and at the band’s shows.
